We are a small family-operated campground located just outside the devastation area near Mt. St. Helens. Set in a forest and an old homestead, all sites are shaded, with an out-in-the woods feel.

Located 18 miles east of I-5, and 8 miles east of Toutle, WA. on SR 504, the Spirit Lake Highway, within easy driving distance to the Mt. St. Helens attractions, viewpoints and visitor centers. Our campground is just outside the western edge of what was the Mt. St. Helens Volcano devastation area.

Set in a quiet forest, in an old homestead, the park offers a convenient base for sightseeing, hiking and biking the Mt. St. Helens area. Kid Valley Campground is also located close to fishing opportunities at nearby lakes and the famous Toutle River.

The park is just across the highway from the Kid Valley Store and gas station. Check-in on-site with our camp host.

Winter activities include hunting, crosscountry skiing, and snowmobiling in the nearby area, including the Toutle state forest, with 35,000 acres open to snowmobiling.

Sportsman’s Retreat!

We are located adjacent to the Toutle River and a few miles from the Green River, both of which have recovered from the volcanic mudflows and offer great salmon and steelhead fishing. We are a short drive from fly-fishing at Coldwater Lake and bass and trout fishing in Silver Lake. Year around elk viewing is popular on the road to Mount St. Helens and hunting in the Winston, Toutle, Coweeman and Margaret units are nearby, too. Call for special hunting season rates.
